I personaly have a friend who was approched by Dwek one afternoon and Dwek begged him for an emergency loan of $25,000 in cash. Dwek claimed that if he is not getting that amount till 4:00 he is going to loose a lot of money. he promised to pay it back by the next day with a third party check!
Burich Hashem my friend refused to do it for him!
How can you blame the people who did have pity on him and tryied to help a poor jew from loosing his investments…

everyone seems to write and comment about this one guy, do you think for a minute the feds would only rely on him, they knew about the others they just needed someone to help and confirm the entire situation, what i wonder is did any of this money actually go to help those in need or were they lining their own pockets? will those who borrowed from these G’Machs be investigated as well? and who will help those that really need the loan’s?????

No 1. displays the typical degree of cynicism that many of the frum commenters here do. Instead of making cheshbon nefesh he/she wants to sweep it under the rug. The chilul hashem here is so big there is enough to talk about for months. People would flock to see a movie about illegal organ trafficking let alone it happenning in the rela world.

For #1 : This news will go away but here in sof maarav we know how the families will suffer for a long time. They will need close to one million dollars each to defend themselves and then maybe make a deal that they will go away for a couple of years!! The real news will start when everyone else forgets. This lowlife saw that another one got away with this behavior and figured he will as well. We can’t allow that this to just die away when so many people will suffer. Even the meaningless news is better than everyone to just forget. He will come back to his family and it will be our fault the next time someone does this C’V!!

How may of you have loaned money to our friends or family? How do we know what they did to repay us? Nobody can condemn anyone for these allegations. Any Jew with a heart would give in to a crying father pleading for a loan or for us to cash a check for him, that is not a crime, it is a frame-up! Don’t blame the CW either, he was under duress of imminent and lengthy incarceration, and chose his children over others. The real crime is the FBI policy of cooking up crimes in order to uncover criminals.
