    87

Jerusalem – Prosecutors today appealed to the Supreme Court against Friday’s decision by the Jerusalem District Court to allow a woman living in the capital’s Mea She’arim neighborhood to continue her house arrest at home as she awaits trial on charges of starving her three-year-old son.

In their appeal, prosecutors said a preliminary look at the evidence in the case indicates the danger that the mother poses to her children.

They also said that monitoring of the condition of the children is compromised by her presence.

Another red light! There is some real indication that there is an agenda here, those resho’im just don’t want to give up without a fight, their hate and rishes knows no boundaries.
She is under house arrest in someone’s house, under full supervision, and they’re still not happy.
Let alone this pregnant mother! she is out on bail like you would do with any other real criminal, she is under house arrest, take your bloody hands off her already!

this is absurd. there has never been any indication that there is any danger to the “other”children. the one in question is not even with her.
It’s begining to sound more, and more that the only “crime” that she commited was being a chareidi in israel. what nerve of those chareidim! let them get theirown country israel is for secularists only!!!

The prosecutors had to appeal to the Supreme Court since the 3 other judges considered their case absolutely absurd. They’re hoping that the Supreme Court known for their cruelty to chareidim and generally to religious Jews, will believe their fabrications, otherwise, the doctors and Hadassah are in hot trouble.

Step back everyone and let her attorney call the shots. He is very skilled and the State prosecutors are afraid of his effectiveness. Give the secularists the opportunity to hang themselves as they have already proven so able at the task. If she is mentally disturbed as is claimed, than she belongs under the care of a psychiatrist, not thrown into jail with a murderous arab. Recall that she was evaluated by a doctor who said she was not a danger to the child or her other children and than same doctor retracts said statement after his professional career was threatened and attacked by those who have an agenda rather than the pursuit of truth as the ultimate goal. What is this business of a plea bargain in exchange for free exit out of the country? Are we to be treated to a kangaroo court with a predetermined outcome? A bit of good clean fun at the expense of a large sector of Israeli society? Lots of mistakes, blunders and bad decisions here, and whatever happened to that gag order the judge wanted? Why set up cameras in the hospital room in the first place? The whole thing stinks foul of an evil plan.

I am amazed at the care and concern of the Israeli Police! Long ago, I would have told the Charedeim that if they want to kill their own kids, go ahead. They care enough to keep trying to save a Charedi child’s life, facing criticism and riots! Me Kamcha Yisroel?

In today’s news, Ynet and Kikar.net reported that a secular or non-Jewish woman in Tel Aviv left her children home alone and tied the youngest child to a bed. That’s what the police saw when they forced entry into this house. Not suspicious but actually saw it with their own fleshy eyes. What do you assume they did to her? You probably expect that she got at least like this suspected woman of starving her child. No, you’re wrong. Realize that this is a secular or non-Jewish woman, not chareidi, and there are different laws for chareidim and non-chareidim in Israel – in reference to labeling, sentencing, torturing and media hate and bias, as well as the response of the talkbacks. All she got was a slap on her wrist while the children were taken away for a few minutes to their father and then went back to their apartment with the mother.

We have to request that the prosecution who cannot accept any wrong doings of Israelis should run immediately without hesitation to the supreme court against this ruling and demand she should be behind bars immediately and her children removed from her.

    People, help me understand.

In Ynet it was reported that “According to the indictment, in the period between February 2008 and July 2009, the mother would take her son to hospital and tell the medical staff in the Hadassah Medical Center that her son suffered from various symptoms that she in fact was the one causing them, while deceiving the medial staff.”

How can it be that top doctors and professors totally rely on the mother – whether she’s normal or needs psychiatric help – without doing their own testing and treating the patient with unnecessary and dangerous treatments and experiments, just because the mother who has no medical background, said so?

And if, for argument’s sake, we will assume that this is true, so after hearing clearly what the hospital admitted that they followed blindly the mother’s advice and treated the baby with unnecessary and dangerous treatments and experiments, how can normal people continue using the services of this hospital? To me it seems that it’s an embarrassment to publicize such a claim which is really self-indictment against the hospital staff and that abnormalities exists in that hospital.

So please help me understand logically how it is possible that a reputable hospital should do such a foolish act and the prosecution should indict the mother with such a foolish claim? And how is it possible that there are people in the public who accept such nonsense?

    Facts:
    1. There is a sick and underweight child that was treated in Hadasah for the past 18 months.
    2. The mother has accused Hadasah of mal-practice.
    3. Hadasah has accused the mother of intentionally harming her child.
    4. Normal police procedure would be to question the mother, and present the evidence to a judge to decide whether or not to allow the suspected mother access to her child. However, in this case the police kept her in custody (two weeks) without allowing her to even see a judge. And without the decission of a judge, the police attempted to force the mother to be diagnosed by a psychiatrist chosen by Hadasah, who was claiming she was mentally ill and caused her son’s illness. Had the charedim not rioted, she would have been diagnosed as crazy – case closed – and locked up in a mental ward.
    Questions that arise:
MK Litzman, who heads the health ministry wanted to investigate Hadasah.
    1. Why is the judge blocking investigating the claims of mal-practice?
    2. If the underweight child was exclusively under the care of the mother for the past year and a half, then there would be strong reason to suspect her of starving the child. But given that the child was under the hospital’s care where is the basis of even suspecting the mother of harming him? A video depicting the mother of removing a feeding tube is not sufficient to be considered evidence of intent to harm.
    3. After having been diagnosed by a psychiatrist as not being psychotic, and not showing signs of mental illness that would cause her to want to harm her child, why wasn’t the case against her dropped by the prosecution?
In sumary: The judge is blocking investigation of the hospital, the police went beyond their jurisdiction to try and frame her, and the prosecution is running after this woman without any justification, while thousands of cases of real criminals they don’t “bother” with even when there is sufficient evidence.
WHO IS PULLING THE STRINGS HERE???!!!

#31 Hershlag. Good questions asked. The best lie is the truth. The hospital, police, prosecution, and social services, are not here to protect the mother nor the child. They do not care for them as they don’t care for the thousands of other cases of child abuse, as you mentioned.

They are here to protect the high-ranking doctors and professors in Hadassah, they should be able to keep their prestigious jobs to keep earning top dollars. Whoever is in their way, gets trampled politely or brutally, no difference. With this concept whatever they did in this case from the beginning until now, makes a lot of sense. That is the reason why the prosecution is so adamant and doesn’t want to give in an even an inch.

First they declared that she suffers from Michenhausen. So if it was proven that she doesn’t suffer from this disease, they should have let her go. But according to this concept, the goal was set and has to executed in any which way, democratically, undemocratically, logically, illogically at any expense. With this theory they had to come up with a new fabrication: Starving and abusing mother.

Then when Dr. Weill diagnosed her that she doesn’t fall in this category and she is not dangerous to her children. Again they should have said case dismissed. But no way. The goal hasn’t been met yet and they’re still driving at high speed chasing this innocent mother.

They then came up with the most illogical and stupidest claim that the mother fooled the doctor. See #25 . All three judges involved in this case realized that the claims of the prosecution don’t make any sense whatsoever and they don’t give them a hoot. So now let’s wait see and expect some new fabrication and nonsense from the prosecution. In other words, feeding the public with lokshen.

#28 Of course every doctor asks the mother what’s wrong with the child when he’s brought in to be checked. But when a major operation or procedure needs to be done, like treatment of chemo where the hair falls out l”a, if a doctor trusts the mother, och un vei! If anything, it’s the mother that trusts the doctor or goes for a second opinion to another doctor. But no doctor in the world would rely blindly and treat the child solely on the mother’s advice, esp. when experimenting with dangerous treatments. And if they do perform treatments, it’s because either they personally believe that it can cure the child or simply to experiment and to get some experience and fame. In this case, the doctor boasted to the mother that he spend 1 million dollars worth of medication for this child. From when does the Kupat Cholim pay for such expensive treatments? Even for much cheaper and simpler treatments, you have to fight with them to approve and here they’re so generous? Do they really care so much for this child? Remember? When he was imprisoned in Hadassah he was not allowed to be transferred to another good hospital?

With the theory of post #33 everything makes perfectly sense including the matter discussed in this post.

I am amazed at the comments here and at the paranoid conspiracy nonsense that so many here spew. The woman at issue is not an issue at all. She is now in the system and the system will deal with her. This isn’t some anti Jew or anti Chareidi assault. This is exactly what it appears to be – the system is protecting the child. And that, shepselech, is what the system should do.

No one rioted when the child appeared to be abused. No one riots when chareidi children are raped and molested by their uncles and rabbeyim.

This mother is certainly 100% guilty of being a really bad caregiver to this child. I have no idea whether that is a crime. Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t. The child was sick when he was around the mother and on the mend while she is nowhere near him. This woman is an adult and I don’t really care about her WHEN THERE IS A CHILD INVOLVED. This defenseless child who CAN’T DEFEND ITSELF. And the Israeli government is acting in loco parentis when it appears that there is abuse involved. AND THEY ARE 100% RIGHT TO DO SO. I say sofek lchumrah. Until there is no doubt that this woman is a danger, let her be in jail, or house arrest, or in psychiatric care, or in Gaza, or Mars. I don’t care AS LONG AS SHE IS NOT NEAR THE CHILD.

Start putting the children first and until you do don’t cry for moshiach because you don’t deserve him.

    #39 HAGTBG and #46 Shaul
    1) a) Dr. Weill is the head psychiatrist of Hadassah Hospital. If in your eyes Hadassah is a great hospital, wouldn’t their psychiatrist measure up to the standards of the hospital? If Dr. Weill is not reliable enough, then we must assume that the Hospital is also not the greatest and can easily be incriminated with abusing their patients.

    b) Don’t you find it suspicious that Dr. Weill, a head psychiatrist, should recant? Didn’t you wonder whether he was bribed or threatened by the criminal police or doctors of Hadassah where he’s their head psychiatrist?

    c) Regarding Dr. Weill’s recanting, contrary to the widespread media reports, he concluded his letter by saying that his “retraction does not and should not imply that the mother is in fact dangerous to her children.”

    2) a) Regarding Michenhausen, the doctors made that claim imitating US doctors who have tried the same trick to get her out of their hair. The psychiatrist who evaluated her, blasted those same doctors for making that claim without having even evaluated her.

    b) “Munchausen-by-proxy syndrome” is a theory that was once accepted and has since been disapproved in England. There is no solid evidence that such a disorder exists. The Israeli doctors know it quite well and are trying to convince the unsophisticated public of this sickness. Read up on it and you’ll see for yourself.

    c) and to #46 Saul “The alleged crime is starving of the child”
“The child was sick when he was around the mother and on the mend while she is nowhere near him.”
You should get and update of the news and the latest fabrications from the prosecution. The alleged crime of starving her child has been revoked at least a week ago. Do you still hear the prosecutors talk about it? Apparently you haven’t heard that they now have a new fabrication, namely that the mother fooled the doctors. So the “alleged crime of starving the child” is out.

Saul, can you answer this question? Let’s assume that the doctors have not admitted that it wasn’t the mother that starved her child, how come the child didn’t gain weight when the mother was on vacation and he only started gaining when she was arrested? Makes sense?

    3) and to #46 Saul “Nowhere do you even consider the possibility this woman is guilty.”
“This mother is certainly 100% guilty of being a really bad caregiver to this child.”
Could you swear holding a sefer Torah that this mother is guilty? I agree that there are religious Jews who do unkosher things but aren’t there doctors who abuse the system and do unkosher things too? Didn’t you read the articles recently about the malpractice of Israeli doctors in Romania? Didn’t you read the articles recently about the malpractice of Israeli doctors in Rechovot? Oh, I forgot, you’re still up to the fabrications from 3 weeks ago. Go find these stories on the net and you’ll see that Israeli doctors are not as innocent as you make them out to be. You should ask the question if it’s the mother that did something unkosher or the doctor? So it’s 50-50, right? So how can you be so sure that the doctors are right and convict the mother as 100% guilty? And you say ‘sofek lechumra’, to judge a woman bechinom? Who is really biased here?

It sure is funny how the prosecutors keep changing their fabrications because evidently the judges don’t buy it. The child was under the doctor’s care for 2 years but hospitalized for over half a year straight. You don’t have to be blind to see what medication the doctor treated the child with. In third world countries where children go hungry, the hair all over the body does not fall out completely like a child under chemo l”a. Go read up on it. And even if all the hair does fall out, it takes time and it does not occur within half a year, like this child who was under dangerous medication for 7 months. There are pictures of this child with hair right before that.

“Of course for those brainless people, when I go to the doctor he/she will do tests according to the system s I explain to them.”
Of course the doctor will do tests on the child according to the mother’s advice, but would your doctor give your child chemo or other dangerous medication because YOU, the mother, told him that it seems that he has cancer? Which doctor would commit such a crime and which sane person would go to a doctor that administers medication on the sole advice of the mother? And you are talking about brainless people…?

“If it comes out that you guys where right and it was a massive conspiracy I will admit and apologize.”
Well, momentarily, 3 judges in Israel involved in this case realized that the claims of the
prosecution don’t make any sense whatsoever and considered their indictment absolutely absurd. The prosecution has one more option. To go to the Supreme Court whom they know quite well and they also know – like everybody does – all about their cruelty to chareidim and religious Jews who they feel will believe their fabrications. Do you know what a slap in the face it is for the prosecutors and the doctors if their indictment are found full holes and baloney?

This fabrication that the mother “fooled” the doctors is quite shameful to the doctors and a clear indictment against Hadassah.

And by the way, most of the 150 witnesses the prosecutors found reported last week will testify against Hadassah. Many of these witnesses are family members and friends of the mother. These prosecutors are having a real hard time making up something creative. Wouldn’t it be nice if you and others in here to help them out?

#42 I personally know there’s abuse in chareidi families, tho it’s not as common or severe as among chilonim. The rabbonim know this too, and the doctors too. In all other cases of suspected abuse the matter is dealt with discreetly, with the cooperation of the rabbonim, so as to protect the children with the minimal shame on the family. ONLY IN CASES WHERE THE DOCTORS BOTCHED UP WERE THE PARENTS ACCUSED IN SUCH HIGHLY-PUBLICIZED AND CRUEL FASHION. This happened to Yenty and to the yungerman Valles, whose son the hospital left to die of negligence and then turned around and pounced on the father with a charge of child-murder. His appeal is still pending; in fact, one of his askonim PREDICTED that one of these days a frum parent will be accused of child abuse in order to influence the court.

#60 Thank you for being the shliach tzibur, for saying words that many wanted to tell him and others.

According to Jewish law and civil law, a person is innocent until proven guilty. (In the Jewish country, it’s sadly the opposite momentarily.) In this case, Hadassah cannot be non-partisan and their word as an impartial mediator can definitely not be relied upon since they have a negiah because if the mother is not guilty, they incriminate themselves and obviously become are guilty. So they cannot be neutral since they have a personal interest in this case and their credibility becomes automatically questionable. #51 Msseeker, said it well. This was a real shmutz campaign from the hospital to influence neutral minds. Unfortunately, from the posts in all these blogs, they succeeded very well. And whatever you write with logic, common sense and proof, their minds which were poisoned is hard to clean. As David Hamelech said, “They have venom like the venom of a snake, like a deaf viper that closes its ear.”

HAGTBG, You have a big problem.

You have a holy cow called Hadassah. You assume and you can swear that Hadassah is clean, therefore the only option remains that the mother messed up. In your blocked mind, the question is only whether the mother is healthy or not. And you’re trying to do everyone a big favor that it would be better that she has some psychiatric problem. How naive!

Doesn’t it even occur to you that the problem might be from the other side – the hospital? Did you forget that there is another side to the story? According to the opinion of many, there’s a good chance that the hospital botched up. Because the media didn’t mention it, doesn’t mean the hospital is clean. The media is perfect for naive people like you who just follow along with their reports blindly. Aren’t you surprised that the hospital has not as of yet been investigated? Aren’t you surprised that the Health Minister, Litzman, wanted to investigate the hospital and was turned down? If they have nothing to hide, why are they scared of an investigation? It’s seems to all honest and clear thinking people that the mother is 100% innocent and the hospital personnel suffer from some syndrome…

many folks here give opinions without doing research. Last night I did some additional research — Hadassa is idiotic because the more they push this case the more that will come out. Hadassit is a holding of Hadassa — it is a company formed to make money off of research. Hadassit is in partnership with Jersualem municipality. Guess who gets chosen to be head of such bio research initiative on behalf of the government — a wife of an Israeli Consulate member. Guess what she owns — a private equity firm that invests in bio research. So we have an unholy alliance of government and Hadassa pushing for research and, so far, some government officials that I’ve noticed, profiting.
There is no oversight to the research. There is just a huge drive to profit – -to quote press releases ‘to bring in foreign money — to get drug companies to invest — to get contracts from drug companies to do their research’
all this can be found by trawling the web and doing research on Haddasah and bio research
