New York City – Many business and services around the city will be closed for the Labor Day holiday on Monday.

Most post offices and other government buildings will be closed. However, the Farley Post Office on Eighth Avenue, the Church Street location and Franklin Roosevelt Station on Third Avenue will be open, but for automated transactions only.
There will be Express Mail delivery.
All city offices are closed and there will be no garbage or recycling collections.
Alternate-side parking rules are suspended for the day and parking meters will not be in effect.
Metro-North and the Long Island Rail Road are offering extra getaway service out of the city today, and will operate on Sunday schedules on Labor Day.
City subway and buses will also run on a Sunday schedule.

Be glad you don’t live in Crown Heights. That disgusting parade means 2 million cursing, drinking, half-naked people using our gardens & streets as bathrooms. Makes me sick to my stomach. And sadly there’s a big levaya for a special chossid tomorrow morning at 770. What a day!
labor day should be the day when all kollel people get up and go out and so the people who work the rest of the year don’t have to.
NYC would call a major holdiday a day when Sunday parking rules are in effect…I wonder if that is still the case?
