Abraham Simon is charged with second-degree burglary of a Hammond Avenue house in Monsey on Tuesday afternoon.

Police targeted Simon and another man based on a surveillance videotape from a neighbor’s house, Detective Lt. Brad Weidel said today.

Police arrested Simon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police have reached out to leaders of the religious community in an effort to arrest the second suspect, Weidel said.

“We know who the second individual is,” Weidel said. “We’ve spoken with leaders of the religious community. We told them if they saw him, they should urge him to surrender.”

Simon, who lies at 608 Route 306 in Pomona, was released after posting $10,000 bail set by Justice Arnold Etelson.
