In that spirit, these two “nice Jewish boys” from Cleveland plan to celebrate their peoples’ salvation from the evil Haman with “Grogger Factory,” a “synagogue friendly” application the pair launched last month for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch.
The mobile app, which can be downloaded for 99 cents from iTunes, enables users to build their own unique gregger (noisemaker) from multiple models, textures, backgrounds and sounds. The three-dimensional noisemaker spins and makes a satisfying racket when the user gently shakes the chosen “iDevice.”
What happened to the good old days, when yungerleit would bring cap shooting machine guns to shul?
How about having an iMatzo for pesach??
It will be much cheaper.
Whoa whooo! This is year 2010. What will the next generation bring?!
Have they gotten a hechsher for it?
I would think that unlike the iLulav (which is fairly clearly not acceptable as a lulav), it would not be difficult to get one for an iPhone grogger, seeing as Purim is not yontif and there are (I think) relatively little restrictions on what can be used to drown out the name of Haman harasha
These guys made the same program for new years eve with a gragger and times square in the background. Anyways, there is a free app from rustybrick that has megilla and a gragger with beatiful graphics.
