New Yorkers will get 10 days without street cleaning because holidays from a few religions fall this year 10 days in a row, that means they will not have to move their car from Monday March 29 to Thursday April 8., and 13 days without moving if they park the car on Fri 3/26!

    Passover (1st/2nd Days) Mar 30-31, Tue-Wed
Holy Thursday (Orthodox) Apr 1, Thu
    Good Friday Apr 2, Fri
    Passover (7th/8th Days) Apr 5-6, Mon-Tue.

This is truly a great time to be alive remarks the Streetwise blogger of Manhattan “It is a wondrous miracle of Spring. It is as if the Moon and the Sun were joined, as if the ebony keys and the ivory keys will be struck all together in one glorious celestial symphony. Such an eclipse of NYC parking rules is so rare that for it to occur again in our lifetime the stars would have to realign, the mountains would have to fall, 10,000 ages would have to come and go…”.

Actually, that’s not entirely true. Alternate side is NOT suspended on Shabbos April 3. It’s true that there aren’t many Saturday alternate side spots, but they do exist and if you’re parked in one over Shabbos on April 3, you will receive a ticket.

On Monday March 29 it is NOT suspended. You are going to cause a lot of people to receive tickets if you don’t correct the article.

Don’t think that the Brownies are hibernating for 10 days. They will be roaming the streets checking for other violations such as expired registrations, missing front license plates, parking too far from the curb and parking too close to hydrants. They are authorized to issue “moving violations” such as being in the intersection between crosswalks when light is red etc.
