Beck, who maintains pro-Israel views, has slammed social justice organization and claimed they are dangerously reminiscent of communism, socialism, and fascism. He has been a vocal critic of president Obama, often invoking Nazi images to highlight his views.

The popular TV personality has targeted Jewish groups, among other things accusing Jewish Funds for Justice President and CEO Simon Greer of holding a Nazi-like worldview.

Later, responding to a harsh Washington post op-ed against him by Greer, Beck slammed Greer’s attitude, arguing that “This leads to death camps.”

Greer’s column for the Washington Post’s “On Faith” section unsurprisingly ignited the debate once again. Political philosophy aside, Greer’s lead sentence may have been enough to set the host off: “Mr. Beck, you are a con man and America is not buying it.”

In the piece, Greer argued that “government is one way by which we care for our neighbors, and my tradition tells me to care for my neighbor as I care for myself.”

“Government makes our country function,” Greer wrote. “To put God first is to put humankind first, and to put humankind first is to put the common good first.”

    Beck disagreed.

“This leads to death camps,” Beck said on May 28. “A Jew, of all people, should know that. This is exactly the kind of talk that led to the death camps in Germany — put humankind and the common good first.”

Jewish leaders, believing Beck went too far, filed a complaint with Fox News’ chief executive. The letter led to a meeting with top network executives in an effort to calm the tensions. Meanwhile, Beck sent Greer a letter where he did not offer an apology, but said he took the concerns expressed by about him very seriously.

Who are these “Jewish Leaders” and why do they think that they hold ownership on the terms Nazi or Holocoust?
Glenn made a powerfull point showing us where big powerfull governments can get us in the name of “Common Good”. His argument is right, I think, and history proves it!
I, as a Jew, am aware of our tradition of people and communities doing charity and helping out each other. there is no Jewish tradision in suport of the lefts socialist type of government benvolence and equality on the expense of others.
As Glenn says: Who but Jews should know how dangerous big and powerfull government is.
And as the great Milton Friedman used to point out that we Jews have always had our own comunities with our own institutions and operations trying to keep the government as far away as possible and that’s how we strived as beutiful prosperious and charitable communities.
And who remebers the blessing for the governmet?”May God keep the government…far far away from us”. Amen.

Go Glen Beck. They are trying to take away your free speech. Don’t let them do it to you. They are proving how fascistic they indeed are by trying to remove your rights.

‘Jewish Leaders’ best be warned about attacking and alienating people on the right. Voices such as that of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, and the Tea party are very strong and VOCAL supporters of Israel and Jewish causes. Their (conservative) views are a lot more in line with traditional jewish values (sanctity of marriage, etc) than the liberal/progressive establishment.

When the conservative backlash occurs, and believe me it’s coming, Jews may pay a heavy price for aligning themselves with the liberal and progressive agenda. The agenda which serve to undermine society and everything which is holy.

there have always been liberal jews, it is a great tradition in our heritage. you need both sides- boundary pushers and status-quo pushers. this is how the eitz chayim grows strong. it stays strong by the tradition-reinforcing law, and it grows by the energetic reaching and creative spiritual stretching. both are inspired by ahavat hashem. i know jews have always bickered and fought amongst themselves over distinctions and are adept at creating more refined factions (this is also how we grow, like a living talmudic sugya)- but PLEASE keep in perspective that we are am kadosh and am echad. So-called ‘liberal jews’ are not the enemy!!

Glenn Beck does not decry the atrocities of WW2 and does little to decry the holocaust. He puts up nazi imagery in the form of the swastica and hitlers face frequently as if we wish to continue to observe this rancid unnerving imagery from the history books on a daily basis. One wonders if he does this to keep the imagery alive? I can not follow any of his political statements and rarely keep him on for more than a few minutes. His mind does not follow an organized or constructive approach to dispelling knowledge or instruction. It baffles me that one who communicates as poorly as Mr. Beck and in such a disorganized fashion remains in the limelight.

Apparently most of you need to learn about the Nazis and Holocaust – Are there bad people out there today? YES. Are there people who hate Jews to the core? YES. Are there people who would like to do / did bad things to the Jews? YES

But non of it compares to the horrors of Hitl . . . and the Nazis YS”V and when people make comparisons, it makes me sick and most of all its slap in the face to the millions who were murdered

hello people something does bother me about Glenn Beck and its not his conservative agenda. there are reports that Beck said “the jews are responsible for killing jesus, let them pay for it” that is disturbing & shouldn’t be said by a rightfull man like beck who btw allways defends the jewish state. (just saying)

Glenn Beck is a lover of Jews. Watch all the videos on youtube where he goes to bat for us more than Bibi Netanyahu does! He is unapologetic in his defense of the Jews and characterization Palestinian activists as terrorists. Just youtube ‘glenn beck flotilla’ and you will be enlightened as to how big of a friend to yidden he is. I’m sick and tired of the liberal Jews who call Glen Beck a Nazi all day. They are the real ones desecrating the crimes that the Nazis have done to us. If Glenn Beck was in charge of Germany in the 30’s the holocaust would have never have happened. He hates Fascism with every fiber of his being and exposes the secret fascistic characteristics that the left practice every day.

Reply to #10 : “you need both sides”

No, you don’t! If one of the sides is wrong – we don’t need it. What is the difference between what you said, dlp, and saying “we need both bnei Torah and reform”?

Shmuel (#16). “If one of the sides is wrong-” Emphasis on “if.” I personally do not think they are wrong. The real difference is between people who care about Jews, Judaism and Halacha, and those who don’t. Being passionate about and structuring your life around halacha and torah does not require holding what is currently considered a conservative political outlook. Many liberal jews certainly have these characteristics, and many conservative jews do not.

Should we characterize this dispute as like Hillel and Shammai (leshem shamayim), or as like Korach? I would say it is like hillel and shammai. Both are acting for the sake of heaven, to perform mitzvot, to strengthen the jewish people, to live the life hashem wants us to live.

so many yiddin can be fooled by beck and the kind. they take entertainers as real news. And people who just like Israel because it represents the ends of days and no love of Jews.

I would be very scared as a Jew if Glen and his types ever take power
