In a statement to customers on Tuesday, Canada Post said it has been informed by Israel Post that mail service to the coastal Palestinian territory is unavailable “due to circumstances beyond their control.”

Canada Post does not stop delivering mail to countries or areas. Instead, countries indicate they can not receive mail for conflict or other reasons.

Canada Post said it has not been able to find alternate routes to move mail in the area.

“All Gaza-bound mail accepted by Canada Post that is undeliverable will be returned to the sender as we do not know when mail service to the area will resume,” the statement said.

Once mail service to the Gaza Strip resumes, customers will be able to mail their items at no additional charge.

It is unclear whether the service disruption is related to a blockade Israel and Egypt have imposed on Gaza since June 2007, when militant group Hamas seized control of the territory from rival Palestinian group Fatah.

it’s back to using carrier pigeons. Seriously, these enemies (Gaza/Hamas) should be having bigger problems….this is a joke, a minor inconvenience. They should Not have any electric power, water, food, etc. are we fighting a war with these dedicated to kill every last Jew enemies or are we just playing around? They have Shallit, and expect mail?

They sent it to Israel, Israel sent it to Gaza, and it never reached its destination, like everything else going there.

So why this story? Because probably someone made an issue out of it blaming of course the Israelis; now it surely is “fit to print”.

Disruption in the mail is commonplace. It more often than not entails PA/Hamas issues and not Israeli ones. Hamas collects taxes which are supposed to be shared with the PA for basic utilities, including the mail. They almost always delay each others funding as a way to score points. Case in point, using a statement from #4 , 1/3 of Gaza’s electricity is provided by a Palestinian run power station. Hamas withholds the taxes, PA can’t buy the fuel, the lights go out (medical equipment ceases to function, computers go down etc etc you get the idea). This happen every couple of months when the bill comes due. Israel has nothing to do with it. They always report it to let people know what is going on. The mainstream media never reports it. Flotilla idiots and others claim Israel is withholding electricity – and on it goes.
