One of the leaders of the group paying for the ad, West Virginia Conservative Foundation, also contributes to a blog that has targeted Rahall and suggested he has ties to terrorists or their supporters.

In the ad, ominous music plays as Rahall discusses his chairmanship of the Arab-Americans for Obama group when Obama was a presidential candidate. The ad ends asking viewers to call Rahall and “tell him to stand with West Virginians.”

The 61-year-old Rahall, a Presbyterian whose ancestors are of Lebanese descent, is vying for an 18th U.S. House term in the state’s southern 3rd Congressional District. He faces Republican and former state Supreme Court Justice Elliott “Spike” Maynard, whose campaign didn’t immediately comment on the ad.

The conservative group spent more than $227,000 on the ad, but declined to reveal its donors.

“With this ad campaign, we are taking our educational efforts to the next level,” the group said in a statement.

Lance Eric Schultz and Nathaniel “Thorney” Lieberman, Charleston-based Republicans and tea party activists, are listed as the group’s current leaders. A photographer, Lieberman’s work and activism appears on a blog that routinely attacks Arabs and Muslims, particularly on topics involving Israel.

The blog also promotes the view that Obama is a Muslim who may not have been born in the U.S. Obama is a Christian who was born in U.S.

The president is considered unpopular in West Virginia. He failed to win in 2008 and state Republicans have seized on the president’s low approval ratings in several races, including Rahall’s.

State Republican Party Chairman Mike Stuart, who founded the conservative group, distanced himself from both the ad and the group Wednesday.

“I don’t support that ad in any way, shape or form,” said Stuart, who became party chief in July. “I abhor that sort of thing.”

    Wow, this is turning nightmarish!

Rabosei, it’s time to start carrying your passports with you wherever you go, even on Shabbos (inside an eruv, it’s not yet time that you can carry it outside of an eruv).
This anti-Arabic and anti-Islamic sentiment will soon spill over against the Jews….

    Hey poster #1 , toolee:
It’s hard not to laugh at your comment when in the same sentence you claim that you’re not ignorant and then show proof that in fact you really are when you also claim that the President is a Muslim. Further proof that you don’t have a true grasp of your intellectual defect is that you fail to recognize that Representative Rahall is not a Muslim, he is an Christian Arab.

How is obama an arab if his father is from kenya and his mother is caucasian? Obama goes to church. How many arabs do you know goes to church?

Watch the way in which you speak at an Arab. Some are Jewish lost souls that some where along their family lineage converted. It is sad to see such hatred when all of us are not certain is that is a Jewish brother that you are so willingly quickly to hate.

Muslim does not equal arab. Can you be any more ignorant. Most Arabs are not muslim. The stupidity in this thread never seizes to amaze me.

#s 1,5,7,&10; – your bigotry and ignorance is astounding, particularly #7 -“an arab is an arab is an arab”. And how do YOU like it when others may say ” a Jew is a Jew is a Jew” – they are all wealthy and clannish and control the media.” You would be the first one on the phone to the ADL. Smarten up.

    #8 ,

Elchonon, there is alot more that we have in common with Muslimin than with Christians. It&#8 217;s not &#8 220;their&#8 221; fault at all, that&#8 217;s a ridiculous comment! We really will have to leave this country, be prepared. What are you going to do if it turns out that there is an accusation of a Jewish conspiracy to infiltrate corporations and governments in order to give information to other countries? to Israel??

I can certainly and easily imagine them rounding us up like they did to the Japanese Americans in WWII, on American soil, in concentration camps!

    Carry your passport!
You should also have liquid, hard cash in US and other currencies in a safe location that is easily accessible in an emergency.

The tides can turn against us within a very short time. We wouldn&#8 217;t have much warning.
