Washington – Rep. Peter King to Ramp Up Immigration Crackdown

Washington – Rep. Peter King, who next week becomes chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, says he will push legislation to tighten border security and arrest more illegal aliens — challenging what he considers to be President Obama’s lax immigration policies.

“The Obama administration continues to display an obvious lack of urgency when it comes to gaining operational control of the border, which is absolutely critical,” King (R-LI) said.

He said Obama has “done little” in the past two years to keep out illegal immigrants and the country needs a new strategy “that incorporates the necessary staffing, fencing and technology to do the job.”

King’s immigration proposals will include an aggressive crackdown on private companies that hire illegal aliens and increased federal support for local police to help arrest illegal immigrants.

These measures are near the top of a packed Homeland Security agenda that includes efforts to better combat domestic radicalization, stopping Obama’s plans to transfer Guantanamo Bay detainees to the US for civilian trials and bolstering national cybersecurity.

The border security initiatives would be a sharp departure from the current Obama administration policy that is focused on deporting illegal aliens who commit serious crimes.

It also underscores the dead end awaiting Obama’s immigration reform proposals when he confronts a new Republican majority in the House and a larger Republican minority in the Senate starting next week.

King seems to forget he cannot legislate ANYTHING that Obama doesn’t want. He can deny funding for new programs but cannot force the Senate to accept his bills and even if he does get Senate support, Obama will veto his politically driven agenda. If he is serious, then he will work cooperatively. If not, he will be be spinning his wheels with no results.

The U.S. population is approx.309 million.By government estimates, usually wrong but in their favor,12-15 million people are illegals.what does that tell you about borders, customs agents, and enforcement over the last 25 years ????…….
A country that can not maintain it’s borders, and that is swamped by illegal immigration can not last much longer. And,the U.S. provides them with benefits
to reward their criminal trespass and entry.also the liberals refuse to denigrate them by calling them illegals but calls them undocumented workers. How nice !!!
Even the current president had an illegal immigrant aunt who was supposed to
be deported -but now enjoys full welfare benefits since the judge changed his mind after OB became president.Corruption ??……..

I recently served on a federal grand jury for a month. 80% of the indictments were against illegal immgrants who had been convicted of other serious crimes. The US Attorneys indicated that grand juries all over the US are doing this.

Rep. King would change this emphasis to busting people who haven’t done anything wrong other than be here, and pose no threat to anyone. He would force more and more Rubashkin raids, accomplishing nothing but the destruction of strugging businesses. The menace here is Rep. King, not the illegal immigrants.

Rep. Peter King is a good man…he should be the White House, instead of that bumbeling/socialist liberal who currently resides their. With the right national exposure given to Rep. King, the Republicans could use a man of his conviction and strength to run against Obama in 2012.

They simply have to detain the hundred of Mexicans standing daily all along 65th Street in brooklyn. Inaddition to Fort Hamilton Parkway from 43rd Street till the cemetary. They could haul in 1000 at least. They only have a problem with Rubashkin. No one is interested is really catching the illegals in action

Many great empires have fallen because of foreign migrants. Rome is the prime example. States are temporary. Torah and Am Yisroel are eternal. Does it really matter to you if some Mexicans are living in Texas? Make tshuva and study more torah.

Lets see what the consensus is, Immigrants are criminals who are fleeing their country, leaving behind their wife and children. They come to commit crime, and to send the proceeds of their criminal work back home.

Well, we Jews were in the past, illegal immigrants, and fortunately, we integrated into the society, and the children became legal.

When there are no jobs in a country, and you need money to support a wife and children, what are your options. I phrase this in the light of Spanish speaking illegals– honest hard working people, with families back home, with children they want to educate, and if they could find work back home, why, just why would they come to North America.
