“When something like this happens, people get worried that the government is going to ban stuff,” Greg Wolff, owner of two gun stores, in Mesa and Phoenix, tells Bloomberg reporter Michael Riley.

Wolff says his stores are at double their volume over a normal day.

The Bloomberg report says FBI data show that one-day sales of handguns in Arizona jumped 60% on Monday, compared with a corresponding Monday a year ago. That represents the second-biggest increase of any state in the nation.

Sales are up 65% in Ohio, 16% in California, 38% in Illinois and 33% in New York. Nationally, sales are up about 5%.

New sheriffs in two Northern California counties, Sacramento and El Dorado, plan to fulfill campaign promises to make it easier for their residents to obtain concealed-carry permits, The Sacramento Bee is reporting.

The last time a Congressman was killed with in 1978, when a Representative from California went to Guyana to investigate Jim Jones of Jonestown. This murder directly led to the murder/suicide which killed over 900 cultists.

Prior to that, the last congressman to be assassinated was Bobby Kennedy in 1968.
