New Jersey State Police say the single-engine plane was headed for Teterboro Airport but was forced to land on the highway because of a mechanical problem.
The plane landed in the eastbound express lanes. No injuries were reported, and it was unclear how many people were in the plane.
State police say part of the road has been closed while investigators check the plane. They say all lanes could be shut down when it’s removed.
Thats cool but why was he forced to land? Ran out of gas? And how come he didnt hit any cars?
Private pilots train for this kind of thing, but no one ever expects it. Kudos to the pilot for staying calm in the face of an emergency.
An amazing feat of skill and just good fortune combined. I understand that the plane was owned by Bergen County, NJ.
