Livni’s security detail alerted the police and bomb disposal teams who arrived at the scene to examine the source of the blast – but the alarm soon subsided.
No one was injured in the blast and Livni herself was away from home at the time of the incident. The police found no evidence of an explosive device – they estimate the blast was caused by a kind of firecracker left over from the Purim holiday. As yet, none of those involved have been located.
