Robert Turner, a retired media executive, will be the party’s nominee in the Sept. 13 contest.
Turner ran unsuccessfully against Weiner in the general election last year.
Democrats nominated state Assemblyman David Weprin as their candidate on Friday. He’s favored to win the heavily Democratic district, which covers parts of Brooklyn and Queens.
Weiner resigned last month in the middle of his 7th term after admitting he sent suggestive photos and texts to women he met online.
turner ahd a strong showing he pulled in over 40% but how can we frum jews vote for the democrat whose rabbi told him to vote for gay marraige and calls himself a frum jew sorry no good here i will vote republican
no way i vote weprin.
It’s a toughie. Same-gender marriage is clearly not the only issue, and might not be the most critical issue for the frum community. But it might be the most critical one for the -gentile- community. [sigh] People make life difficult for themselves unnecessarily.
“Same-gender marriage is clearly not the only issue, and might not be the most critical issue for the frum community”
Maybe not for you. But for many frum Jews, this is indeed a critical issue.
