A note on state-run website Cubadebate says the tribunal denied Alan Gross’ request to have his sentence reduced or thrown out. It says the decision is a “definitive resolution.”
Gross has been behind bars since his arrest in December 2009. He was found guilty of bringing satellite and other communication equipment into the country illegally.
The Maryland native has acknowledged he was working on a USAID-funded democracy program, but says he meant no harm to the government.
That’s what happens when you ILLEGALY bring in telecommunication products to a dictatorship like Cuba.
Where was his brains??
I wonder if he used to be a liberal, hoping to bring western light to a blighterd cuba.
I wonder how he feels about it now
He meant no harm & he’s a yid in jail in a crazy country. I feel bad 4 him & his family. He needs a yeshuah.
This is a Mitzvah of “Pidyon Shvuim”, plain and simple – but we also need the backing of Gedolim. Mr. Gross did not commit a violent crime, and we need to redeem him. Please refer to Halacha, not emotions or feelings!
