Miner is telling The Associated Press that Perry will announce his intentions to run for the GOP nomination on Saturday as he visits early primary states of South Carolina and New Hampshire.

Perry’s candidacy is likely to shake the GOP field.

His entrance into the filed comes a day after a debate in Iowa and on the same day as his rivals participate in a test vote in the leadoff caucus state.

Perry is great! A 10 ½ year record as a solid conservative governor of Texas.

Perry stands out among the present field of Republican candidates. We need a strong, dynamic leader, who can make decisive decisions, and not blame the entire world for his ineptitude. Also, when FDR was President, we would always see him with Fala; when LBJ was President, we would see him with Him and Her; when Nixon was President, we would see him with King Timahoe; when Ford was President, we would see him with Laddie; when the first Bush was President, we would see him with Millie; when the second Bush was President, we would see him with Barney. Can anybody tell me, when was the last time they saw Obama with Bo??

and Texas also has the largest number of minimum wage earners in the country. Most of the jobs “created” under Perry fall into this category. Most of the other jobs came from federal subsidies (yes, those same subsidies that the Republicans want to eliminate and that Perry said he wouldn’t accept, but did). We don’t have to get into the facts that Perry got a D in Principles of Economics in college or that his recent prayer meeting was paid for by a group that thinks the First Amendment should only apply to Christians. Is this really the best this country can do?

Isn’t anyone troubled by his mixing government and his religion as he did in a recent rally?

Having another right wing fanatic like Perry join the other circus clowns already in the Republican race is wonderful. I’ve been watching them tear each other apart in tonight’s debate in Iowa and he will only add to the bloodletting and make Obama look like a hero. B’yh, by the time the Repubs nominate one of these clowns, they will be so divided and bloodied that the Dems will have little to worry about.

I don’t trust him a bit. What a phoney! Reminds me way too much of President Bush. And I do NOT like it when politicians make a HUGE deal out of their religion, just to score political points.

Ronald Reagan was the master at this, and yet…only went to church a few times BOTH terms in office! Bush went to church all the time….and started 2 wars, killing thousands upon thousands of innocent women & children & civilians in the process (on both sides), and barely caught even half of the terrorists in 8 years, that Obama has caught in the past 30 months!

So…I don’t trust people in politics when they claim to be super-religious. Not one bit!

And trust me… you do NOT want to know what these conservative Christians think about the Jewish religion OR it’s people.

They are plenty buddy-buddy to your faces…but basically think every single one of you are going straight to hell for not believing in their Avodah Zara.

Texas is #1 in application of the death penalty, and probably #1 in its erroneous application (i.e. executing innocent people). In the case of Cameron Willingham, Rick Perry refused to consider scientific evidence that he was innocent.
