Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian U.N. observer, warned that if Israel’s actions aren’t stopped immediately, the volatile region’s tense situation might deteriorate.

He told reporters Thursday the Palestinians also want the Security Council to vote on their application for U.N. membership, even though the U.S. has promised a veto if there isn’t a minimum of nine “yes” votes.

Mansour noted that Israel’s first application for U.N. membership wasn’t successful but its second was, “so if Palestine has to do it this way, that’s our destiny.”

What would happen if Israel just deducted the costs of repair of damages caused by each and every terror incident? There is personal damage related to the shock and anxiety caused to countless Israelis, and this could be converted into monetary value. The loss of revenue from businesses that needed to be closed during rocket volleys, the damage to homes, buildings, and other structures, fields, the cost of the defenses against missiles and rockets, are all calculable. I bet the bottom line is that all the Palestinian taxes would not cover the amount of damage they inflicted. I know this reduces terror to a dollar figure, but it might be a solid argument that withholding the money is not a retaliatory act.

Riyad – Haven’t you ever heard the expression “possesion is 9/10ths of the law.” You attacked us, we captured it, it’s ours! Don’t be such a sore loser and face the facts.

I can’t believe the ignorance shown here by presumably Jews!
Israel was handed over control of the land by England who controlled it for decades and ruled over the arab populations residing in what was then called Palestine. Yasser Arafat came from Tunisia after all of this and brought waves of arab exiles from neighboring arab countries and embarked on a Crusade to take over Israel and reclaim it as Palestine. The arab league went to war with Israel attempting to exactly that and was fought off by Israel and won.
The British were fought off by George Washington and lost it all to the Blue Coats. Red Coats gone. War is final. Same with Israel. The arabs lost the war. War is final.
