R’ Finkel was born in Chicago and he carried the name of his great-grandfather the Alter of Slobodka. Afflicted with Parkinson’s disease, R’ Finkel reportedly never took drugs to alleviate his symptoms as he had been told by his doctor that they might affect his memory.

“I would rather be ill my whole life than to forget even one word of the holy Torah,” R’ Finkel is said to have told one of his talmidim.

The Mirrer Yeshiva is the largest yeshiva in Israel with an enrollment of approximately 6,000 talmidim, many of whom are American or Canadian.

    More details soon.

Oy Tatte! How many more petch? Rabosai – yimos hamoshiach are upon us. You’d have to be blind not to realize the RB “SO is shaking us awake with these tragedies.
Stop with norishkeitin. Make more time for learning. Drop all the kinah, sinah, lashon hora etc… We’re all gonna be giving din v’cheshbon soon. Make sure you have things that you’ll be proud of to plead your case.

May all of us be zocheh to teshuva sheleima and be nitzal from the chevlay moshiach.

BD”H. With all the pain he had, there was always a smile on his face as if he was feeling fine. Torah was his goal and he no doubt reached his goal and hhashem wanted him back. May he daven for am yisroel.

    The Rosh Hayeshiva ZTL
treated all thousands of Bochrim with the same Love and concern as a father to a son used to say once you learn in Mir you are part of Mir family and Rosh Yeshiva ZTL meant every word

Raboisai!!!!!!!!!! The last 48 hours have been terrible for klal yisroel. Either the innocent young or those that are striving in Torah or Tzaddikim. If this isn’t a message what will be???? This is petrifying. We must do teshuva.

It is a tragedy – for Klall Yisroel. It is a sign that Moshiach is near. It is a reason to do teshuva. Why do people post such inane comments on such serious topics?
