Thousands were expect to attend the Tuesday night rally in Beit Shemesh, a city south-west of Jerusalem, organized by pro-democracy and equality activists.

“The entire nation must be recruited in order to save the majority from the hands of a small minority,” Peres urged. “This obligation is everyone’s responsibility.”

“Today is a test for the nation, not just for the police. All of us, religious, secular, traditional … must as one man defend the character of the state of Israel against a minority which breaks our national solidarity,” Peres told reporters Tuesday.

    The נס חנוכה was
ורבים ביד מעטים, ורשעים ביד צדיקים.
Mr. Peres, you can turn the whole nation against the חרידים, the Torah will prevail.

Peres would never have called for a demonstation against fanatical, extremist Arabs; in his mind, it would not be politically correct to do so. Hence, he calls for a demonstration against other Jews. His urging Yidden to turn against other Yidden is in itself a chillul Hashem.

There is nothing “minority” about Charedi fanaticism. Peres is being politically correct about the majority of Charedi beliefs and lifestyle who would not mind Taliban type control over women, music, and society. Shimon Peres is one of the leaders that helped invent Charedi extremism by bending over to them for all the decades he has been in power. If Israeli Government did not subsidize Charedim and create special laws that only benefit them, then they would have been integrated with general Israeli society like all other Jewish groups long time ago. Today, Charedim are like Pakistanis in London who don’t belong there and can’t relate with the rest and can’t tolerate the rest because of their extremist lifestyle. Peres is only now speaking out because he is embarrassed by increased global news coverage of the internal divide that the Charedim are causing with their Talibanesque demands. This is only the beginning for Israel.

When people protested against him and Rabin over Oslo, they told them they didnt have a right to protest and they should “go back to brooklyn.” Maybe he should go back to Europe.

The state of Israel is a Secular state and it’s about time we denounce them as our leaders.
Our leaders are Rabonim like Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Tuvia Weiss, Rav Elyashuv, The Gerer Rebe and gedolim like them
