The federal agency tells The Arizona Republic that a citizen brought the photo to its attention and an “appropriate follow-up” is being conducted.

Peoria police say Sgt. Pat Shearer is a 25-year veteran who remains on active duty, but he also faces an internal investigation into the matter.

The photo shows seven young men. Four of them are posing with weapons and one is holding the T-shirt. It was posted five days before Obama’s visit to Chandler on Wednesday but has since been removed from Shearer’s page.

A telephone message left for Shearer at work Friday wasn’t immediately returned.

In no way shape or form do I condone any act of physical violence against any elected official from the President on down. The Secret Service has an obligation to check on those who may propose violence. With all that said, people did some pretty nasty things with pictures of GWB when he was President…it appears that anything anti Obama is just considered wrong…is he untouchable and not subject to the same level of dislike many had for Bush #2 …short of violence.

Is there something illegal about publicly stating that one wishes the president were dead? Or even advocating for it?

We are living in orwellian times. Freedom of expression is dead. Thank you Obama.
