New Haven Sen. Martin Looney, a Democrat, will join representatives from the Connecticut ADL to discuss the legislation at a Tuesday morning press conference at the ADL office in Hamden.
The legislation comes after Stafford condominium owner Barbara Cadranel was prohibited from affixing a mezuzah__a parchment containing Hebrew passages from the Torah that is placed in the doorways of Jewish homes__to her doorpost. It would protect a resident’s rights to display mezuzahs and other religious symbols
Cadranel is expected to attend the press conference.
Good for her. I think all religious symbols should be able to be displayed on one’s door, whether you own the place or rent.
How long will it take these stupid associations to realize that they invariably lose every time such disputes happen and to stop picking up losing fights?
