“My life is in your hands, Mr. President,” Weinstein said in the video. “If you accept the demands, I live; if you don’t accept the demands, then I die.”

Weinstein was abducted last August in Lahore, Pakistan, after gunmen tricked his guards and broke into his home. The 70-year-old from Rockville, Md., is the country director in Pakistan for J.E. Austin Associates, a Virginia-based firm that advises a range of Pakistani business and government sectors.

In a video message posted on militant websites in December, al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahri said Weinstein would be released if the United States stopped airstrikes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. He also demanded the release of all al-Qaida and Taliban suspects around the world.

The White House had no comment Monday on al-Qaida’s demands or Weinstein’s plea.

The SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors militant messages, said Al-Sahab, al-Qaida’s media arm, posted the Weinstein video on jihadist forums Sunday.

“It’s important you accept the demands and act quickly and don’t delay,” Weinstein said in the video, addressing Obama. “There’ll be no benefit in delaying, it will just make things more difficult for me.”

He also appealed to Obama as a father. If the president responds to the militants’ demands, Weinstein said, “then I will live and hopefully rejoin my family and also enjoy my children, my two daughters, like you enjoy your two daughters.”

After his kidnapping, Weinstein’s company said he was in poor health and provided a detailed list of medications, many of them for heart problems, that it implored the kidnappers to give him.

In the video released Sunday, Weinstein said he would like his wife, Elaine, to know “I’m fine, I’m well, I’m getting all my medications, I’m being taken care of.”

I have been davening for this man since he was abducted, this is the first news in so long, and it’s so sad. He surely must know that the USA does not bargain with terrorists, and that barring a miracle he will die al kiddush HaShem, only because he is a Jew. May HaShem strengthen him to bear his martyrdom, should this come to pass, and to bear his fearsome captivity in the meantime. Remember Daniel Pearl. Remember who we are, and our mission in life, to uphold G-d’s oneness and be holy. Pray for Warren Weinstein, so that when your turn comes to give an accounting for yourself, you will know you at least did something that was within your power to do for him. And if you can do more, do more. I wish I knew what that more was, I want Warren Weinstein returned home safely so much……..

    USA should hold Pakistan responsible
If they don’t let us do the job – do it yourself, if not – suffer the consequences for harboring the terrorists

While we all feel terrible about this fellow, however, it cannot be stressed enough that no business or parnasa or cause is worth going into these Arab and primitive countries for. They are a den of wild wolves, with no protection or accountability.

The same goes for those who vacation in Sinai, and Alan Gross who risked his life to install computer systems in Cuba. What on earth are you thinking by going to these uncivilized places? Stay in Israel or USA. There are enough jobs here, and enough siteseeing.

Mr. Weinstein is just their current excuse to commit another murder. But AL Quieda and all those other Muslim hate groups are not only against Jews! Who is murdering all the Christians all over Africa? Not the Buddhists. Not the Jews. These killers are safe with no fear of doubting. They refuse to allow anyone to question their prophet or the Koran. Obviously they fear the failure of losing an argument so they make it a law not to allow questions.
The Christians are being burned and tortured and raped just like these cavemen have done to us. Mohamed tried to be accepted by the rabbis of his time, but they rejected him. So all of a sudden he wrote a book which dictates hate and murder against the Jews and he says that his god told him to write it.

I feel sorry for this man but as a Jew, he should know not to put himself in peril. Does he expect the United States to now cough up terrorists so that he can live? Does that not make a huge Chilul Hashem?
