Istanbul – The US blocked Israel’s participation in the Global Counterterrorism Forum’s (GCTF) first meeting in Istanbul on Friday, even though Israel has one of the most extensive experiences in counterterrorism in the world. A pro-Israeli source in Washington told “Globes” that Israel was excluded from the meeting because of fierce objections by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Israel tried hard to obtain an invitation to the meeting, and its exclusion, despite the tight US-Israeli intelligence ties, has greatly disappointed officials in Jerusalem.
The GCTF, one of the pillars of President Barack Obama’s antiterrorism campaign, was established in September 2011. The White House calls the forum as a wise use of force against terrorism, and chose Turkey as the forum’s joint chair, together with the US.
29 countries are participating in the GCTF, ten of which are Arab and/or Muslim countries: Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Morocco, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. Other members include China, Russia, India, and Western European countries.
This speaks volumes about the Obama administration’s policies regarding Israel. But, don’t worry, all liberal Democrats. Obama lost my vote a long time ago. This latest fiasco was predictable.
Wow. The backwardness just blows the mind. No logic can ever explain.
This is outrageous!
This is because Obama is such a good “friend” of Israel.
Obama is THE enemy dont vote for him what a chutzpa – hopedully this will come to haunt Mr Hussein Obama
All Turks should vote for Obama.
barak should have refused US attendance at this mockery.disgusting!
Why would Israel want to share counter terrorism strategy with the Turks, the Saudis, etc??? Did they think the Arabs will share information about which groups they are funding and their next targets???
Story doesn’t add up.
In spite of this, I’m afraid that 60-65% of Yidden will vote for Obama!
Didn’t we know that when the Morah worries about one specific students behavior; she’ll davka make her be the monitor or take care of the project or feel chosen so that manipulates her into becoming a good girl and proving herself. It is so clear to me that this was just a way of getting Turkey to feel that they’re not left alone and saving any bit of relationship that the US may still have with them. I don’t think Clinton was whole with this but I think it was a way for her to have Turkey join her peace making bandwagon. Israel doesn’t need to prove itself on this panel; they have a lot more to show than anyone sitting there.
29 countries are participating in the GCTF, ten of which are Arab and/or Muslim countries. Israel You don’t want to be there.
Their loss. As usual, Israel stands alone — with G-d on her side.
Any Jew who votes for Obama harbors hatred of God.
Thank you Hussein Obama.
Having ANY arab countries part of this group is like asking Colonial Sanders to watch the hen house!
israel will share intelligence with us why expose to the arabs if you tell them how you work they they will circumvent it just shows that not all jews are very smart to bad that they run the country
Typical Israel, groveling to attend and feel “included” and important!
What an inferiority complex!
Israel (and, perhaps, the U.S.) should be PAID BY THE HOUR to attend and impart of their knowledge and experience! (And, in Israel’s case, WISDOM!)
Those imbecilic countries deny themselves the opportunity to receive free expert info. I suspect that subconsciously these countries realize their own stupidity, which increases their envy of the Jews.
funniest is that istanbul is hosting this when they are one of iran’s best friends
The message is clear, we (the USA) do not care about you Jews… you are on your own
Billam said it best ” A nation that dwells alone,,”,
The sooner the so called leadership understands that the better
Either way the end is near
To those all who want to shame the president every turn you get when there is a controversy about Israel. PEACE OUT.
Its sort of funny reading all these expressions of outrage about Obama. He did the right thing by assuring that Turkey would attend this meeting which has great poltical but little substantive importance. EY and the U.S. will continue their close coordination in any event but Turkey, which is a vital ally that has drifted away from the U.S. over the past several years is a question mark. The reality is that the U.S. needs Turkey right now much more than EY which has no where else to go. Kol Hakovod to the President for having the guts to make a tough call and not worrying about the “Jewish Vote”. EY frequently makes decisions on settlement and other issues which are directly contrary to American policies. Obama may sometimes have to do the same.
It dosen’t matter, because come November, we the jews will anyway vote for Obama, mark my words all the hemishe yeshivos, schools, etc will send home papers, “it’s very important for our schools, and the well being of your kids to vote for Obama etc”.
AND OBAMA KNOWS THAT TOO…………………………..
