Sonja Abrahamsson, who describes herself as a “low educated” single mother of two from Goteborg, provocatively asked what makes a Jew, used crude language and joked about Jewish circumcision.
The reactions were immediate. One tweeter wrote that “in one day (a)sweden went from global Twitter superstar to PR embarrassment.”
Abrahamsson apologized if she had offended anyone.
The Swedish tweeting project allows different citizens from various walks of life to curate the account each week. As of Tuesday, the (a)sweden account had 34,500 followers and almost 20,000 tweets.
Funny, and they just ran a positive article about the guy who uses the Twitter account called @sweeden and all he is doing for his nation just yesterday in the NY times. Good start to the rest of the week huh?
