Sloatsburg, Suffern, Route 17 North, Route 59 – Brief traffic stoppages along the Thruway will be necessary starting tomorrow to allow blasting for a Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation pipeline replacement project.
The traffic stoppages will take place approximately six miles north of Interchange 15A (Sloatsburg, Suffern, Route 17 North, Route 59) in both the northbound and southbound directions.

The first stoppage will take place between 10 a.m. and noon tomorrow. Throughout the duration of the project, two stoppages are scheduled for Mondays through Wednesdays, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with one stop scheduled for Thursdays between 10 a.m. and noon, weather permitting. The stoppages will last a maximum of 10 minutes. Blasting is expected to conclude by Thursday, August 23.

The authority will activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM and 1610 AM in the Newburgh area in order to inform the public of the scheduled stops. [record]
