Despite the fact that the 150 haredim demonstrating spit at passing cars and disobeyed police orders by attempting to block traffic, the two people detained were not haredim. Police detained two secular counter-protesters who drove by and sprayed water at the demonstrating haredim, calling their actions a “provocation.” The two secular teenagers were brought to the Lev HaBira station for questioning.

The only chillul shabbos I see is being done by the Charedim. They should stay home and learn פרקי אבות.

“Ultra Orthodox” is like “extremely regular”. Except these folks hardly are! Fabulous photography BTW.

Keep up the good work fighting for Shabbos. We need all streets closed Shabbos in the holy land. Don’t listen to the reform and modern orthodox or even those modern chassidim who talk in shul and live and think like goyim. Fight for Shabbos.

What is commentator number 1 nevaAliza hocking a chinick. The chareidim are not being mechalel shabbos. They are just screaming shabbos. Its the secular bums driving on shabbos. Wake up and smell the coffee. Git voch.

    Dear #2
Do you really believe that “fighting for shabbos” & behaving the way these ‘tzaddikim’ act is the way to get other Jews to become shomer shabbat? To the rest of the civilized world these ‘tzaddikim’ appear like goyim by behaving like the Taliban.

These people represent Torah in the same way that a Flashlight represents the battery factory.

#6 & #7 – Having to bring out the police and photographers on Shabbos, which they KNEW would happen, is causing others to be מחלל שבת.
And what, #7 , is a “secular bum”? Is that the same as a “yeshiva bum”? Which is better and which is worse or are they the same?

When a man transgresses shabbat laws, it is not a matter that the nation of Israel is quite exactly involved. This is a matter between that man and his G-d and if you think you are his soul, think again.
G-d will transfix the world with a situation that improves our yiddishkeit and faith.
G-d does not send the lynch mob against the shabbas transgressor

The demonstrators look like a bunch of 13 year olds getting some action on a long Shabbos afternoon.
Its amusing to see the modern orthodox VIN commentors getting all worked up about the demonstrators and hailing against the “charedim”. Any American who has learned in Israel and witnessed these demonstrations knows- its 99% all fun and games.

Ah, it is very simple. The counter-demonstrators ruined the Shabak’s show, so they were arrested. All of these 150 ha-ha-haredim get a bissel gelt every month from certain parties who egg them on, and no, I do not mean the Vaad Hatzule.

Vitriolic and ignorant commentators: These people are NOT going out of their way or techum to antagonize Shabbos desecrators. They are merely doing what little they can to protect their small enclave of disturbances to their peaceful Shabbos. It really is unfair of the media to paint them as aggressors, but they know your gullibility which sells ad space.
True these are “public” streets, but drivers and others who chose to ignore shabbos have an abundance of other roads on which to travel; sort of like the Arabs who want to take our land when they have so much other land to habit ate. If the sanctity of Shabbos can not be preserved even for such a small area, well what is the purpose of Israel to exist?

Take Half these Kanoyim and put them in a hotel room by themselves for shabbos will be using the TV and buying adult channels in less time that you can yell Shabbos!! Enough of this society driven mania caused by unattractive wives, no sports, no girls, no choice of clothes, not much of anything else for them to do……care about shabbos you bums? Go to the kotel and invite someone home or go into the streets and bless a secular Jew with a sincere Shabat Shalom and maybe give him a hug! Seriously what a bunch of hyperbolic losers!!!!
