Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoebi was quoted as telling Turkish news channel A Haber in a telephone interview Wednesday that his country did “not want a crisis between Turkey and Syria.”
Al-Zoebi said Turkish and Israeli fighter jets were mostly U.S.-made, which may have led the Syrian forces to mistake it for an Israeli jet.
Turkey warned Syria on Tuesday to keep its troops away from the countries’ troubled border or risk an armed response, an angry reply to the downing of the Turkish reconnaissance plane last week.
So it’s Israel’s fault
Yea, good excuse.
If it were an IAF overflight, the Syrians would’ve never even known about it.
If it had been an Israeli plane the ground troops manning the ground to air missiles would not be around to be able to explain their scrambled thoughts and at best could only leave as clues scrambled body parts. Remember next time Syrian geniuses – if you’re shooting at it, it’s not Israeli.
As my zeide used to say, “bubba masses”
well.then its OK ,i dont think they could shoot down an Israeli one thou and turkey knows that
Wow they are realy blatent. Don’t these syrians learn their lesson if it was an Israeli plain syria wouldn’t have seen the plain till they would have realized that someone must have bombed them. Turkey let them have it!
So Syria and Turkey get into a fight and… It’s Israel’s fault!
And Israel mistook a boatload of peaceful protesters for terrorists.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Turkey disguised one of their planes as an Israeli plane in order to start a war
The Turkish jet was. A Vietnam-era F-4 Phantom. Israel hasn’t flown Phantoms in 20 years or more.
Turkeys can’t fly which would explain why the Syrians mistook it for an Israeli plane.
