In a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, the department says that it will not bring the congressional contempt citation against Holder to a federal grand jury and that it will take no other action to prosecute the attorney general.

Deputy Attorney General James Cole says the decision is in line with long-standing Justice Department practice across administrations of both political parties.

Then what does the congressional vote against Holder mean now? Does this mean there are no longer any checks and balances in this goverment? Does this mean Holder can do as he pleases and ignore the rule of law? Is this country moving in the wrong direction – toward dictatorship?

Reasonable, since it was all political theatre. What Fox News doesn’t want you to know is that the “Gun Walking” was started under Bush. Also, the NRA, which is angry at any attempt to stop illegal gun traffic (Fast and Furious was a sting operation which hoped to do just this) always claims “Guns don’t kill people, peopke kill people”. Well in this case, probaby true! As tragic as the death of the border patrol agent from shots fired by a “Fast and Furious” gun, the perpetrator would almost certainly have been armed. Unfortunately, America is awash in guns and fukll of people who worship them as an Avodah Zarah

No one, including th Republicans, expected any different outcome. Bush’s justice department took no action against the President’s aides who were cited in contempt for failing to provide testimony in the U.S. Attorney appointment scandal…same during all prior administrations. These contempt citations are political theatre and no one really expects much other than a few days of media and editorial coverage. Maybe the Republicans in the House will now stop holding meaningless votes and move on to do somthing useful.

This is like an April Fools story!
You mean to tell me that you thought that a Department that is a corrupt as the Justice Department is has “decided” not to prosecute the Director of that department, the same person who makes every decision in that Department?!?!
How doped up do they think the American people are? Answer: the American people are drugged up.

Roger Clemens, the Yankee pitcher, was brought up on criminal charges for allegedly lying to Congress. I guess he had the wrong political connections.
