Steven M. Tielsch, 45, was convicted of third-degree murder in 2002 for killing Neal Rosenblum, 24, in 1986 on a Squirrel Hill street. Tielsch was sentenced to 10 to 20 years for the murder.
The state Superior Court upheld the murder conviction in a 2-1 decision and wrote that there was sufficient circumstantial evidence to support his conviction.
Tielsch's trial was marked by three mistrials caused by deadlocked juries. A fourth jury convicted him in September 2002. Rosenblum was dressed in traditional garb of an Orthodox Jew as he returned from a prayer meeting that night. [TRIB]
It took Four Jury trials to convict
this murderer. Some other suspects are convicted much faster and easier by some other juries. All depends who the victim and who the perpetrator and the composition of the jury. (ideologically, among other factors.)
Was he married to Weingarten?

If he would have pled guilty he would have been released between 1996 and 2006. Since he was just convicted now, he should serve 10 to 20 from 2002. That will keep him off the street until 2012-2024. Good riddance.
