Rockland County is home to thousands who commute into Manhattan daily including firefighters, police officers, nurses and teachers. Cornell stated that, "Charging these men and women money each and everyday they travel to work is unfair to those living on limited incomes."
In a letter to Commissioner Marc Shaw Cornell asked the commission to seek ways of improving mass transit prior to instituting a tariff and to include Rockland County in their decision making process. [AM1300]
