The Wildlife Conservation Society runs the aquarium. It says in a statement the aquarium’s “walruses, sea lions, seals, sea otters, sea turtles and sharks are all fine.”
Friday’s statement says most of the fish that were lost were in an exhibit tank workers couldn’t immediately reach after the storm.
The Conservation Society says restoring power to the aquarium has taken longer than expected but power should be back soon.
I’m very happy for the sharks.
Was wondering why my gefilte fish tasted funny this shabbos?!?!?
what did the fish drown?
A Kapure with the fish.
Who’s really interested in the fish when so many lives were ripped away, and thousands of others are devistated.
I was actually wondering what happened to the aquarium. I just took my kids on chol hamoed, my first time there in about 20 years…
The article doesn’t say the fish drowned, silly. It says they lost it, as in swept out to sea!
I’m not so sure about swept out to sea – it says they were in a tank that couldn’t be reached. I would have thought that the filtration or thermostat on the tank died and thus killed all the fish.
