One meaningless gesture against another meaningless gesture. They can have whatever status they want in the UN. The UN does not matter.

Wake up Obama haters. This isn’t such a newflash! President Obama has repeated his opposition many times. Most notably in his address to the UN General Assembly last September (2011). In fact Bibi called Obama’s speech a “badge of honor”.

I am sure Obama told Abbas that although the US will oppose UN status for the Palestinian Authority, he also assured him that he will pressure Israel to withdraw to the 6 day war lines (which Abba Eban called the Auschwitz lines) without any real concessions from the Arabs. This has been the Obama policy since he took officer. It was sidetracked by the election and by Obama’s calculation that he could fool many Jews into voting for him. Now that he doesn’t have to worry about re-election, the pressure will be intense. Israelis expect the kind of pressure they have never experienced before.
It is also important to realize what Obama did not say to Abbas. Unlike the insulting conversation Hillary had with Netanyahu about settlements, he has never criticized Abbas for calling sucide bombers heroes, teaching in their schools that they are heroes and naming squares and parks after those suicide bombers. Obama believes that the settlements are an obstacle to peace, but the continuous anti-Israel and anti-Semitic tirades are not not an obstacle to peace. Obama means well, but he is a fool.

Does anyone think Abbas cares? He will make his moves without US permission. Even if he “promises” not to, he has never spoken truth yet. Now, what “rewards” will Obama give Abbas for “promising” to withdraw from approaching the General Assembly? Will he twist Israel’s arms harder? Will he demand more concessions in the one sided manner that characterized Obama term #1 ?

The fact is that he is the President. Santorum will go to h’ll not as Romney promised have a voice in the administration. The voice would have been the Catholic antisemitism now on the internet. Lueger, Austrian the mentor of Hitler, the Catholics which accused me of deicide, the Catholics , Bishops which helped escaped Croatian German, and Austrian war criminals, the Catholics who tried to organize a new crusade in 1948 and the Catholic Bishop Williamson who denied the gas chambers. Let Romney make money for his rich investors. Ryan kee[p peddling Ayn Rand the Jewish atheist and let the President be mazliach.

Israel taking increased rocketfire from Gaza and even from Syria now. This is no coincidence. The Arabs are emboldened by the Obama re-election.
