    17

FILE - A police officer stands by as people wait for gasoline at a petrol filling station in Brooklyn, New York, USA, 09 November 2012. EPANew York, NY – Mayor Michael Bloomberg says odd-even rationing seems to have eased the post-storm gasoline crunch in New York City, but he’s not sure when he’ll lift the restriction.

The system began Friday in the city and on neighboring Long Island after Superstorm Sandy disrupted the metropolitan area’s gasoline distribution network. New Jersey implemented the odd-even plan earlier and is ending it Tuesday morning.

The hours-long lines at New York City gas stations seem to have eased since the rationing began there. But Bloomberg says he’s going to leave the system in place “for a while.”

The mayor calls it “not that much of an inconvenience.”

Sorry Mr Mayor, Gas lines eased before the restriction. Maybe a week ago this would have made a real impact. Too little too late

Now that more homes are reconnected to ConEd (though not enough of them are reconnected yet), there are less people in line with the gas cans to buy fuel for their generators.

Bloomberg is a nut!! It’s a miracle how he is one of the richest people in the world. Can he really be that stupid? First it takes him 2 weeks to implement this, now he’s gonna leave it in place to inconvenience us more? I agree with the previous posters that this is not what is making the lines shorter.

Bloomberg is the most hated politician. You will not find a reporter who writes anything good about this little dictator.
Lesson for new yorkers, never elect a Mayor or Governor who is filthy rich.Bloomberg despises an average joe who doesn’t have extra money. This man is out of touch of reality.
Dictator Bloomberg will be remembered as the most hated Mayor in NY history

Here is a question for the Mayor, why is it that in an area where there was no power outage, only some of the gas stations were open, and there had to be lines at the pumps?????? It is an outrage!!! The fuel delivery companies as well as those stations that were closed should be fined for crippling the city as well as the Island!

Sit back guys and you’ll see a new bill to the city council implementing a permanent Odd-even policy for NYC! And here comes the catch! Drivers who violate just by trying to come to the Gas Station there will be cameras giving 115.00 dollar fine! What a great new way to generate more income for the already tight city!

The joke is that there are no police at any gas station so every one can fill up!
