The visit indicates a new Egyptian policy toward to Gaza following the ouster of longtime leader Hosni Mubarak and the rise to power of Islamists.

Mubarak, Israel’s longtime ally, had poor relations with Hamas and teamed up with Israel to blockade Gaza after the militant Hamas seized the territory in 2007.

The new Egyptian president, Mohammed Morsi, comes from the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent group of Hamas and has met with Hamas leaders in Cairo.

“We are telling the Palestinians that we are on their side,” said activist Adam Mubarak. “Our visit is a message to Israel that we will not abandon the Palestinians in Gaza.”

They should take them home with them to safety and stand with them in Egypt. It would serve them right if they died in a ground offensive.

I just don’t understand why Israel doesn’t cut off all supplies to Gaza, including power & water, which come from Israel. Flush them out, make the “innocents” suffer. Iran doesn’t give a rat’s tail about what the rest of the world thinks, neither does Syria, & they are really horrific countries, so why won’t Israel just for once take a really hardline approach and get rid of the problem once & for all. Go in & bomb the place. If they can hide behind women & kids that’s their problem. Then we can take Gaza back.

Here is an idea, send out a warning that in 24 hours, every person must leave and cross over to Egypt, and then completely level the area, killing any remaining “people” and then move in, and officially annex it as part of Medinat Yisrael….we know it is already Eretz Yisrael proper. It is the only way to solve this problem.
