Lhota is expected to officially resign Friday to announce his candidacy on the Republican ticket, the Times reported. He has already informed Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration of his plans, the paper reported.
Lhota, a former deputy mayor under Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, has been widely hailed for his performance getting the subways back up and running after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy.
The MTA board has received no notification of Lhota’s impending departure, an MTA official said.

What’s his position on metzitzah b’peh?
What contribution has Mr. Lhota made as MTA Chairman to the people of New York that would make him think we’d vote for him?
Is there ever going to be a chance of having a New Yorker, who isn’t a carpetbagger, billionaire, or connected to some political hack club run for public office? What an abrogation of civic trust.
Sick!!
Why should anyone vote for him look at the MTA they don’t stop ripping us off they have zero regard for the average New Yorkers pocket.
The people are so silly his work after sandy is what any normal chairman would do , plus they have al the money in the world to do what has to be done.
If any public figures by us endorse him we should have a public outcry.
Imagine what would happen to taxes and fines in the city
He can’t be worse than any of the other candidates that are running, can he?
MTA is the worst run thing ever.
It cost them 30 million dollars to make a stop wheelchair accessable.
PLEASE
Why should we vote for him now?? He just raised the fare!!
That loser can’t even balance the MTA budget without constantly raising the fare ..can you just imagine him trying to balance the entire NYC!!
