The president and Michelle Obama offered thoughts and prayers Friday to Koch’s loved ones, and to all of New York City.
In a statement, Obama praised Koch’s role in overseeing New York’s economic renewal.
The president says Koch expanded affordable housing and extended opportunity to more of New York City’s residents.
He says Koch’s energy, personality and commitment enlivened public discourse ranging from civic issues to Israel.
Yeah ask the Donald how he loved him. According to Mr Trump he was 1 of the worst or the worst mayor in NYC history.
I am not seeing he was bad but he certainly had lots of enemies.
Koch oversaw economic renewal??? When he left office NYC’s economy was in shambles, crime and prostitution was rampant and businesses were fleeing in droves.
Lets not kid ourselves, Koch was a great guy and a great example how a politician should act with respect, but his record wasn’t that great.
The city started recovering and prospering under Juliani. Crime rate safety business, investments and everything else were all in the dumps till Rudy started reversing everything. Basically Koch and Dinkins did a terrible job and should of been “fired” in season 1……
The article is about what Obama said. Koch endorced him and that helped get votes for Obama. Obama should have representation at the funeral, maybe send Mr. Lew ??
