Monticello – In a move they hope will move them closer to that elusive Catskills casino, the St. Regis Mohawks are abandoning Kutsher’s Sports Academy for a proposed casino at Monticello Raceway.
In a letter sent yesterday to the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs, the tribe says it “has formally decided to move forward with only the Monticello Raceway project.”
“We are therefore withdrawing the application for a fee to trust application at the Kutsher’s site, otherwise called the Mohawk Mountain project.”
