New Jersey ranked as the third-least-depressed state in the study titled “Ranking America’s Mental Health,” The New York Post reported Friday.
New York ranked 19th on the study conducted by the non-profit group Mental Health America.
“The New Jersey findings I think have really surprised many people because they are just stereotypes people have about New Jersey, for better or worse,” said David Shern, president of Mental Health America.
New York had the second least amount of suicides per-capita, ranking just behind Washington. New Jersey had the fourth least amount of suicides, the newspaper reported.
