Orange County Court Judge Rosenwasser, who’s running for state Supreme Court, will be a guest on a Chester radio program, at 9 a.m. tomorrow. He’ll be appearing just a few days after Chasidim from feuding factions in Kiryas Yoel and Brooklyn duked it out at a Brooklyn synagogue. That brawl (“hats and bats,” in police vernacular) came in the wake of a Rosenwasser order demanding proof that a member of the Kiryas Yoel faction had been expelled from the Brooklyn synagogue:
Kiryas Joel’s residents are observant Jews. They don’t travel, cook or turn on appliances during Shabbas, which begins at sundown Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday. That means listening to the radio show and interrogating Rosenwasser on the air will be problematic for the thousands of people in Kiryas Yoel who vote. Some surrogates might have to step up.
So, if you live in Kiryas Yoel and you’ve got a question for the judge, you’ve got until sundown today to get your Shabbos goy lined up with some probing inquiries worthy of Maimonides himself. If you’re not from KY, once again, that time is 9 a.m. tomorrow.
