Cleveland, OH – An Ohio prosecutor said on Thursday that he intends to seek aggravated murder charges against accused Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro, and would evaluate whether to seek the death penalty against the former school bus driver.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty said at a press conference that murder charges would be based on evidence from one of the women held captive in Castro’s house that he impregnated her, then physically abused and starved her in order to induce miscarriages.
Under Ohio law, Castro would be eligible for the death penalty if he is convicted of murder. McGinty said he would evaluate at a later date whether to seek the death penalty in the case.
Castro has already been charged with four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape, after three women were freed on Monday from about a decade of captivity in his house.
Very few people will cry for this monster
As a resident of Ohio, I commend the Cuyahoga County (Cleveland) Prosecuting Attorney. I know for a fact that Cuhahoga County enforces the death penalty, unlike the prosecutor in Franklin County, Ohio, who avoids seeking it, even though over 65% of the Ohio electorate support it. I spoke to a psychologist who evaluates death row prisoners, and that individual told me that 99% of them are completely unremorseful. If they had the opportunity to get out, they would reoffend and murder again. The only effective way to ensure that they will never murder again, is to execute them.
unfortunately, there can not be enough suffering for this behaima.
Even in this case, I am opposed to the death penalty. Too many mistakes have been made. As George Will said, the death penalty is another failed government program.
Please explain. Too many innocent people have been killed by government. I think we ought not to allow the government to impose death. Please tell me how this is screwed up.
Oh, boy. This is going to make the “pro-choice” crowd mighty upset.
To #6 - PaulinSaudi- Kindly provide the VIN readers with one capital punishment execution, where you have definitive proof that the wrong person was executed in the USA? Incidentally, in your country of residence, Saudi Arabia, their government routinely beheads violent criminals publicly, within a short time after conviction. There, there are no long drawn out appeals. As a result, on a per capita basis, the level of heinous criminal activity is much lower there, than here.
Is there any justification for mere mortals that we are to take another person’s life? Regardless of his guilt, its not up to us to take that person’s life.
If you are going to bring the Torah into it, then know that capital punishment is only when he’s warned immediately prior to the act and include his punishment in the warning. It must also be two unrelated witnesses who undergo extensive cross examination.
And even then, the Gemorra says that a Bais Din never or rarely (two opinions) actually went ahead with it.
From the perpsective of the unborn child, there’s no difference between a mother who *chooses* to abort, and the abuser who beats the child to death inside her. Oh, but Mom has the right to choose, so it’s OK…
To #10 -Authentic Satmar- According to you, EY should not have executed Adolph Eichmann by hanging, in May 1, 1962. He was the monster who coordinated the deaths of millions of Yidden.
To PaulinSaudi- I’m curious to know what a Jew is doing, living in Saudi Arabia. Jews haven’t lived there as an organized community in over 1,000 years. As a matter of fact, in 1990, when Saddam Hussein had his forces invade Kuwait, Saudi Arabia specifically told the U.S. Defense Dept., not to send an Jews amoung the U.S. armed forces, to be stationed on its soil. Fortunately, the Defense Dept. ignored the Saudis, but cautioned American Jewish servicemen and women to keep a low profile. Therefore, please enlighten us why you live there?
