Jerusalem – In what some are calling an act aimed at “showing” it belongs to them, Arab vandals used Islamic colors to spray paint Arabic graffiti on the tomb of Shimon Ben Yaakov, believed by many to be the burial place one of the 12 tribes of Israel.

ARUTZ SHEVA 7 (http://bit.ly/112Gupl) is reporting that recent visitors to the site found Arabic writing which reads, “the Tomb of Shamun (Shimon)” written in several places.
Photographs of the vandalism have been forwarded to an NGO that handles restoration projects of holy sites.
This is why the “Price Tag” vandalism is such a chillul hashem because it encourages the Palestinians to reciprocate. Their mosques and holy places deserve the same respect and security and our shuls and kevorim. Both sides need to avoid taking any action which shows contempt of the others’ religious beliefs.
I’m not sure you wanna go messing with Shimon.
Would he only be alive, he’d give him his deserved treatment…
Was this the one by Eyal (near Kalkilya) or Omatzia? There are two contenders for places being his tomb. Probably neither one is.
