Israel – The finance ministry on Wednesday released a housing plan to build 80,000 new apartments by 2014.

The main aspects of the plan, which will be presented for approval by the housing cabinet on Monday, also required that at least 25,000 units a year would could the Israel Land Authority and be marketed by the state.
In 2012, only 15,380 new units were built, making the goal an ambitious one.
The program also deals with land allocation, removing barriers for building, promoting urban renewal, and installing infrastructure.
