ISRAEL HAYOM (http://bit.ly/13jLjb3) reports that, speaking the day after the Peri Committee presented its recommendations on a haredi draft to the government, United Torah Judaism MK Moshe Gafni said that when Yesh Atid “didn’t” harm the Torah, security was “quiet” and Israel’s economic situation was “excellent.” Gafni went on to say that Israeli now has “rockets” pointed at it and its credit rating is “plummeting” since Lapid “harmed” the Torah.

Gafni stated that he sincerely believes a large number of Israelis agree with him.

In commenting on Yesh Atid’s pledge to introduce core studies in ultra-Orthodox schools, Gafni said to “forget” about “educating” us.

What a crazy thing to say. Rockets were always pointed toward Israel.
It’s easy to always blame someone else.

Its always nice to know that the chareidim have a direct line to G-d and know exactly why Israel is having a tough security problem and have actually figured out that it has nothing to do with their own conduct……..are they not familiar with the rabbinic phrase: “kol haposel, bmumo posel”, he who finds [another’s] disqualification, actually finds his own…” Problem could just as well have to do with chareidim’s own misconduct than misconduct they attribute to others….no, wait, chareidim dont engage in misconduct!

I believe that the ultra-secular Lapid is wrong to attempt to force extreme change on the Chareidi world. However Gafni’s comments are silly and inapropriate. Israel faces exsistential threats every few years. This happenes even when Chareidim are in the government and even when Yeshivos are being supported. Chareidim sat in governments in both intifadas and it the recent wars in Gaza and Lebanon.

What a pile-on. Have you not heard of midda-knegged-midda? If you don’t think Gafni is correct, put it to a test. TRY backing off Lapid’s dangerous plan, and see if the situation eases up.
    It will.
Those who call some variety of Jew ignorant must be staring into a mirror.

This is becoming a repressive culture where we ban the idea of a non Torah orthodox soul from holding office in a secularly affiliated State that houses many Torah powers. If you think that G-d is going to destroy our future by one man’s leadership who was lawfully elected, think again.

What a world we live in. We should all be thankful to be seeing in front of our very eyes such an astonishing amount of Nevi’im. I don’t think there have been this many people with Nevuah since Har Sinai. So many people have been gifted with the understand of why things happen, how to make things stop happening… it’s incredible! It doesn’t even have to be great Rabbis anymore. Politicians, commentators on websites… all Nevi’im. B”H to be living in a time of such Kedusha that even a politician speaks with Ruach HaKodesh and understands the reasons and workings of HKBH.

Anything that happens from here on out, the Haredi demagogues will blame upon their recent failure to convince the majority of Israelis that they’re like the Leviim and deserve a free ride. This is spiritual terrorism, and is a further example of why they’re so despicable. They are incapable of introspection.
