New York – In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings and the recent beheading of a British soldier, officials say a “wall of NYPD blue” will be on hand to insure that Sunday’s Salute to Israel Parade and Israel Day Concert go off as planned.

The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS (http://nydn.us/18zpKcr) reports that Dr. Joseph Frager, an organizer of the concert scheduled for 2:30 in Central Park, said NYPD officials have been “wonderful” and “diligent” in addressing all security needs during meetings leading up to the event.
Frager said law enforcement will be “discouraging” entry to anyone carrying a backpack and searching everyone who plans to attend the concert.
Frager also stressed that the event is as much about “ideology” as it is entertainment.
Speakers include Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon, as well as keynote speaker, former UN Ambassador John Bolton.
Scheduled to appear are Hasidic pop star/ rapper Lipa Schmeltzer, Simply Tsfat, Sandy Shmuely, Choni G and Edon.
