LOHUD.com (http://lohud.us/19Y6oyq) is reporting that Rabbi Alfredo Borodowski, 49, from Congregation Sulam Yaakov in Larchmont, was charged with one felony count of first-degree criminal impersonation.

Sources say that Borodowski, upset with the woman for driving too slowly on Mamaroneck Avenue around 9:30 a.m., pulled up beside her in his Toyota Camry, flashed a fake badge and began screaming that he was a police officer and that she needed to pull over.

Suspecting something was amiss, the woman instead called police, who subsequently charged the rabbi.

I’m more concerned him impersonating a “rabbi” then him impersonating a police officer.

Once an impersonator; always an impersonator! Maybe his congregation and movement will learn something.
To be fair Orthodoxy has its fair share of impersonators. The difference is everyone acknowledges that the behavior is fraudulent and wrong.
The movement this fellow represents is built on perpetuating a fraud so that people can feel like good Jews accept very limited responsibility for their actions.

Where are all the outraged comments that it is only when someone is arrested who is chareidi when they mention his religious affiliation? Oh I get it. It is only prejudice when a chareidi person is mentioned. Hey number 3, why do you believe mo-israeli is a conservative Jew? Oh I know because some small minded people think that only chareidim are Jewish. I wish you a pleasant Shabbat of doing tshuva for your hate of your fellow Jew.

If he was a “frum” rabbi he would be called Shomrim with 20 sirens and a tinted window SUV. Since he is not a frum rabbi, he is an impersonator and a fake rabbi too.

Hi Clear-Thinker. Please calm down. If you read the linked article, or the one on WCBS radio’s site, you’d see that Mr. Borodowski was only referred to as Rabbi, with no denomination attached to it. The affiliation was probably added when the item was posted because it’s meaningful to the readers of this website.

    Who buys a fake badge?
If you get a fake badge I’m sure you want to try it out. I wonder how long he’s been waiting to pull someone over? The best he could find is driving too slow

If he were charaidi we would expect better so people get upset. This fellow doesn’t have Toras Moshe. This just reminds us of what we would be without Torah. We do have the Torah so one of us does something wrong challenges our belief in the koach of the Torah.
