FILE - New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio talks about a campaign to reform the NYPD's stop and frisk program during a news conference at New York's City Hall, May 9, 2012. REUTERS/Keith Bedford New York – A source close to Mayor Bloomberg says the mayor is prepared to dip into his own fortune to fight the re-election bids of City Council members opposed to his “stop-and-frisk” policy.

The NEW YORK POST (http://bit.ly/13l3PUe) reports that the source said the mayor believes that “actions” have “consequences,” and that he fully believes members of the City Council should be held “accountable” for their votes.

The City Council passed a vote last Thursday approving a bill that opens the door for lawsuits against the NYPD by New Yorkers who believe they have been “profiled” as part of Bloomberg’s “stop-and-frisk.”

The 34-17 vote is just enough to override a veto by the mayor.

Deputy Mayor Howard Wolfson said Bloomberg’s PAC is expected to cast a “wide net” when it comes to trying to persuade council members to change their vote.

No offense, but the poor mayor who may or may not be right does not have a future in office after this election. If he wants to spend to out a candidate, that is good and fine, but shouldn’t his word be good enough to cause people to think about the issue. And if this man is as wealthy as he is and without remiss, doesn’t it demonstrate bullying to use his honored surplus of wealth in such an audacious manner? Even if he is charitable as he is, why not hold the money or use it for a better cause? I just think he is not altogether in the prism of usual society.

This is why spending limits need to be in place for campaigns. Get the money out of politics and what is right by the citizens of this great nation.

NYC residents will have to learn that only they could stop Herr Nanny and his gazillions of dollars by voting AGAINST whomever he is backing.

I can’t remember when was the last time I agreed with Nanny Bloomberg.
But on this issue I’m 100% behind Bloomberg.
And come September I will vote against my local council member because my council member voted for this bill

Bloomberg has been doing this from day 1, paying out of pocket and discretionary spending to council and the districts that support his policies. That is why was able to get away with stiffing us for 11 yrs.
