In a statement issued Thursday, White House officials say calls have been made to officials in Egypt and elsewhere to convey the importance of a quick and responsible return of full authority to a democratically elected civilian government.

The statement says U.S. officials are also pushing for a transparent political process without violence in Egypt and urging the new government to avoid any arbitrary arrests of ousted President Mohammed Morsi or his supporters.

Calls were made to officials in Egypt, Israel, Qatar, Turkey and Norway. Obama was briefed in the White House Situation Room.

This is news because the president was actually there?
Or did the president not watch the news this past week, (his usual briefing refault) so they had to brief him?

Nothing more then a Photo Op

Situation room? Why? For what? Obama? He encouraged ousting Mubarak and applauded Morsi and now Morsi is out.

He is on the wrong side of history

Obama has No control and has No Foreign Policy so there is no need for a meeting in the “Situation Room” let him chill out back to Africa and let the Arabs in Egypt Kill themselves its the only language they understand anyway

Considering that he had only one cabinet meeting this year, and that he regularly misses his daily briefings, one wonders why he even had this meeting.

    Probably the photo op

All of a sudden he came to work??!! He is the most laziest President of all time and today he comes in and called the entire Cabinet in as well??!!. Why, because its American Independence day and for Barry, this day is NOT a holiday. So that what he wants to show. Second, he’s angry that his fellow Muslim bros got kicked out of power by the Egyptian people so hes showing his concern as a warning to the average/normal every day Egyptian who hates the Islamo Fascist that hes coming after them. The Egyptian Army and the secularists are a million times better for the Egyptian people, for the USA and the West, except Obama is a closet Muslim Bro so hes going nuts
