LOHUD.com (http://lohud.us/1ahU0dD) reports that Andrew Rubin, the attorney representing 49 year-old Rabbi Alfredo Borodowski, who lives in White Plains and who serves as rabbi at Congregation Sulam Yaakov in Larchmont, said that his client has been receiving “intensive” treatment for bipolar disorder at a local hospital where he has been an inpatient for a large chunk of the past several weeks.
Borodowski was arrested and charged with “first-degree impersonation” last month after he attempted to pull over a Mamaroneck woman for driving “too slowly” in a school zone.
Borodowski’s June arrest prompted two other alleged victims to come forward, including a 26 year-old Scarsdale man whose passenger documented Borodowski’s antics on video.
Both subsequent cases remain under investigation by state and local authorities.
49 yrs old and first diagnosed and treated shortly after charges and video recordings of impersonation. He sounds like he’s under good care, lawyer care, that is.
Reform Judaism is a mental disorder.
Everybody needs a psychiatrist. Hope his synagogue fires him now that he’s a “sicko”.
Oh now everything is ok. Impersonate a rabbi then impersonate a cop now impersonate someone with a mental disorder.
“49 year-old Rabbi has been receiving intensive treatment for bipolar disorder…” a little late in life for that type of diagnosis isn’t it???
bipolar now? Well he is ready to join Nachmans or Skverers.
Such HYPOCRISY here, Numbers 1 through 4 would scream bias if anyone made THEIR comments against a Chasidic Rabbi hospitalized for a mental illness after they were caught for some crime.
He’s a Father and a decent person who struggles with an illness. He needs prayers for a refuah shlemah, not insults. Knowing him he is very well educated but struggles with a treatable illness. Would we make fun of a diabetic who loses a limb or the limp of an injured person? All Jews need to recognize mental illness , especially treatable conditions. No one chooses to be have a debilitating disease and wether you agree with his religiosity he’s a good family man who needs support, as does his respectable family.
