Rockland County, Wesley Hills, NY – The discovery of a device made to look like a bomb inside a vacant village home led to the evacuation of surrounding residences.

Ramapo police and the Rockland County Sheriff's Bomb Squad spent several hours at 17 Van Winkle Road after a cleaner hired by a local real estate agent found a device comprising three thin tubes, wires and a timer.
The tubes were painted orange and stenciled with the word "dynamite," Ramapo Police Sgt. Al Gumbs said.
When police got the initial call they cleared the scene and the surrounding area
No one was injured. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. [Journal News]
