Brooklyn, NY – Is Charles Barron Antagonistic To The Jewish Community?

    10

Brooklyn, NY – A Jewish reader who was “outraged” by what he deemed “race-baiting as a form of fundraising” forwarded this invite to a fundraiser being hosted tomorrow by Rabbi Joseph Stamm at his home for Councilman Bill DeBlasio’s 2009 Brooklyn borough president run.

Stamm, the president and CEO of MedReview and a longtime campaign contributor to candidates on both sides of the aisle, wrote in the invite:

“Councilman Bill DeBlasio has announced his candidacy for Brooklyn Borough President. At present, the only other person running for Brooklyn Borough President is Charles Barron, who has repeatedly proven to be antagonistic to the Jewish community.

Councilman Bill DeBlasio has been a true friend to our community and to our causes both here and in Israel and has earned the community’s united support.”

DeBlasio insisted he didn’t sign off on Stamm’s invite, nor does he condone the sentiment of his donor.

“I don’t think it’s productive for people to be negatively characterizing other candidates,” DeBlasio said, adding that while he doesn’t agree with Barron on everything, he intends to send a message to his supporters that this type of language is unacceptable.

“I’ve never seen that letter and I would not have approved it,” DeBlasio continued. “I want to be positive and have a debate some day about the real issues facing Brooklyn. I will tell anyone associated with me not to do this kind of thing.”

Needless to say, Barron, who was the first to announce his candidacy, (with the Rev. Al Sharpton by his side), was outraged and did not accept DeBlasio’s explanation.

“If that’s the kind of people he’s getting money from, I don’t think he’s fit to lead the borough and talk about unity,” Barron said of DeBlasio. “He needs to stop associating with people like that and not accept their money. All candidates say they’re not responsible for this kind of stuff, but I don’t think that he did not know.” [nydailynewsblog]

There was no good reason to Metion Barron on the invitation. It only serves to be antagonistic. Rational people will make their owen judgments about the characte rof the candidates who are running. I fthe candidates want to throw mud at eachother let them.

I work with black people and they all tell me that Barron and Sharpton does not represent them and they always get pissed off at people who decided they are the black leaders~!!

The bottom line is that Barron is a hate monger and always yells about killing the “whites and the jews”. You can see his sick rhetoric on youtube unless they took it off already.

The cop-out [by those in the black community who associate with the likes of sonny carson and charles barron] when confronted with their anti-semitic and racist statements and actions, is, that “they hate all WHITE people, not only JEWS. Reagrdless, (or IRREGARDLESS, as some great “Scholars” would say.) such statements by “Rabbi” Stamm are wrong and divisive. And should be condemned.

Why is DeBlasio distancing himself from such a statement?? The fact is that Barron HAS shown on numerous occasions his antagonism toward the Jewish community.. It concerns me that DeBlasio is unwilling to acknowledge that. What’s he afraid of??

Well, Deblasio has to say that, it looks good for him. I’m sure he fully agrees, and is not unhappy that the Jewish community realizes that Barron isn’t on our side.

Baron purportedly made the following statement publicly at a rally.

“I want to go up to the closest white person and say, ‘You can’t understand this, it’s a black thing’ and then slap him, just for my mental health.”

Councilmember Baron is at the best insensative to our community, but it was wrong to even mention him on the invitation. Baron’s proposal to name a street after the rabid anti-semite Sonny Carson was defeated by City Council.
